His first experience in the AKC conformation ring was as a 6 month old pup at the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America National Specialty Show in Belton, Texas - October 2004. He won his 6-9 month puppy boy sweepstakes class and was very well-liked by Australian judge, Connie Redhead who put his littermate Butter as Grand Sweepstakes Champion. It was the largest entry for a national specialty and our Roper showed very well. (pictured here as a new champion)

He returned to the ACDCA national specialty ring in 2005 - Del Mar, California where he went head-to-head against sister Butter to win the Best Puppy in Properties at just under 18 months under Australian judge, Sue Scholes. He was also Best Senior Puppy in Sweepstakes.

Roper recently finished his Championship with limited showing. He is a delightful traveling companion and very well-mannered though he likes to play tricks on his co-owner Deb Casey when they room together.

Roper comes from a very high-drive litter imprinted right here at Germelhaus. His littermate, Rita, in Alaska has also finished her championship and competes in agility and obedience and is training in tracking and herding. It was a "do-it-all" litter for sure.
